Laminar Flow Fume Cabinets

Polimatrix is proud to introduce a unique all plastic series of laminar flow units

There are 3 primary types of Laminar Flow Units manufactured by Polimatrix. The entire range features an all Polypropylene construction

  1. V-Flo Series: A unique series of Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets
  2. H-Flo Series: A unique series of Horizontal Laminar Flow Cabinets – In non-recycling and recycling configurations
  3. Combi-Flo Series: A unique series of full extraction Vertical Laminar Flow Fume Cabinets .

Main areas of Application:

  1.  Laboratories where a high degree of purity is required
  2.  Clean laboratories where potential exists for corrosion
  3.  Research laboratories where the presence of metals is undesirable


The specially formulated White Polypropylene which is used has been specially developed for laboratory applications. This material has the following features:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance across a broad range of media
  • Highly stable with no effect on purity of laboratory test samples/specimens
  • Resists fading. The sight blue tint ensures the material “fades” to crisp white and not a disappointing off-white.
  • Excellent performance under artificial light for personnel comfort
  • Perfect for high purity clean lab applications

V-Flo  Vertical Laminar Flow cabinets are available in various mounting configurations from 1200mm wide to 1800mm wide and special custom designed units can be made according to the client’s requirements

  • Detachable front air foil for easy cleaning
  • Services panel on right hand side
  • Air is drawn from the room into the fan plenum through a pre-filter and is then discharged into the filter plenum. The air in the positively pressured filter plenum passes through an H-14 HEPA filter and clean filtered laminar flow air is directed toward the work surface.
  • A MiniHelic gauge indicates the pressure drop across this filter arrangement
  • The HEPA filter is accessible from the inside of the V-Flo unit
  • The pre-filter is accessible from the top of the V-Flo  unit
  • The V-Flo fume cabinets are supplied complete with a hinged heavy duty polycarbonate (Lexan) sash. The sash covers 355mm of the opening leaving the remaining 355mm open for the operator
  • The light is mounted in the services panel void and is situated on the top right hand side of the work area. The light is fully sealed from the working environment and is a 220V LED or Fluorescent  tube
  • A unique 230V/110V centrifugal fan with built in variable speed adjustment is connected to a TEL Air flow controller. The TEL controller adjusts fan speed automatically to remain within the desired optimum operating range
  • Electrical panel with earth leakage and breakers for power sockets, light and other electrical services as required

 

H-Flo  Horizontal Laminar Flow cabinets are available in various mounting configurations from 1200mm wide to 1800mm wide and special custom designed units up to 4000mm wide can be made on request.

H-Flo-R: Rear mounted filter providing non-recycling laminar flow from the back toward the front

  1. This configuration has no front sash
  2. The service panel is situated on either the left or right hand side depending on the client’s preference
  3. Suitable for a clean environment not requiring containment

H-Flo-C: Side mounted filter providing a cross-flow re-cycling configuration in a contained environment

  1. Fitted with horizontal clear sliding sash panels which are 10mm thick for rigidity
  2. There is a service panel on both left hand and right hand sides
  3. An additional filter is installed on the recycling side
  4. Small amounts of air are bled off through a filter system and replaced with fresh clean air which is drawn in through the pre-filter.
  5. These units are for specific applications requiring clean laminar flow air in a contained environment
  6. For certain applications glove ports and bio filters are also fitted

Combi-Flo  Vertical Laminar Flow Fume cabinets are available in various mounting configurations from 1400mm wide to 2000mm wide

Combi-Flo units are specifically where a combination of clean air working environment along with fume extraction of corrosive or toxic fumes is required

  • Front removable vertical sliding sash in Polycarbonate or Glass
  • Air is drawn from the room into the fan plenum through a pre-filter and is then discharged into the filter plenum. The air in the positively pressured filter plenum passes through an H-14 HEPA filter and clean filtered laminar flow air is directed toward the work surface through a diffuser.
  • The extraction is via a down-draft arrangement into a plenum below the work surface and then directed via a specially formed vent to a duct connection point.
  • A separate extraction fan is required
  • A MiniHelic gauge indicates the pressure drop across the filter arrangement
  • The HEPA filter is accessible from the inside of the Combi-Flo unit
  • The pre-filter is accessible from the top of the Combi-Flo  unit
  • The light is mounted in the services panel void and is situated on the top left or right hand side of the work area. The light is fully sealed from the working environment and is a 220V LED or Fluorescent  tube

  • -Flo…PST: Removable trays for powder coated steel support stand
  • -Flo …. Z: Custom polypropylene base units with basins and special internal configurations

NOTE 1: There are virtually no metal parts. Where any parts have to be used such as for fasteners and brackets these are 316 stainless steel and are not in contact with the air-stream
